This Kind of Crazy Love Story You Only See on TV.

Have you ever imagined growing up and discovering that your mom and dad met each other on one of Australia’s most famous reality shows, The Bachelor?

If you've been following me for a while, you know one of my favourite aspects about being a photographer is hearing the couple’s love stories, learning about their personalities, and cultural aspects and creating something unique just for them.

When it comes to Holly Kingston and Jimmy Nicholson, I must admit it was a dream of mine to photograph their maternity session. Not just because of the incredible love story starting in reality, but also because, they are relevant to my development as an English speaker. 

Well, they had no idea, until I revelled in the photoshoot day, that I used to watch The Bachelor to learn more about Aussie language culture, including slang and accents, which helped me improve my vocabulary and develop my beautiful "BrOzzie" (Brazilian + Aussie) accent!

I quickly became a fan of their authenticity, simplicity, and low-maintenance vibe. Also, my wanderlust is just as strong as theirs, so I love following their adventures around the world and saving the hot tips.

When Holly posted the first photo announcing her pregnancy, I immediately thought, "This should be me photographing them for the maternity shoot!" But I was unsure if my raw, authentic photography style would be what she envisioned; I thought she might would go for something more glamorous, maybe in a studio.

The universe seemed keen to put us together. One day, we bumped into each other in the Bondi bubble, and I knew this was my chance. To my delight, Holly expressed her concern about the shoot being 'too corny.' I knew exactly what she meant, and I was ready to create something truly special. We designed the shoot to align perfectly with her vision: intimate memories, simple, and cozy. I couldn’t agree more with the approach, and I often quote Leonardo da Vinci on this: 'Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.'" A little touch of Pinterest vibe would naturally happen; it’s impossible not to capture her gorgeous grace.

Jimmy is a legend—his spontaneity makes everything so effortless and fun! His happiness and excitement about expecting his little mate were so evident, with a smile on his face the entire time. I didn’t even need to ask him to look at her; he just couldn’t take his eyes off the sexy mama!

It was heartwarming to see how excited they were about the arrival of their little one. I’ll let you in on a secret: Holly hopes the baby has Jimmy's skin colour! The way Jimmy looks after her makes it clear he hopes their child inherits everything from Holly, especially her bubbly personality.

We enjoyed a glorious morning at Bronte Beach, where some of Holly and Jimmy's fans waved and wished them good vibes. We capped off the shoot with a dip in the iconic pool. In Brazil, we say that a dip in the ocean is the best way to cleanse your energy and recharge with good vibes.

Yet, I believe we were already blessed with two meaningful signs during the shoot: a pigeon captured in the first shot and a butterfly landing on me at the beach. Both animals carry such beautiful symbolism. The pigeon represents peace, love, and harmony, while the butterfly symbolizes transformation and new beginnings. It felt like nature was aligning with us, offering its blessing for this special moment.

I can’t wait to see the little one shine into this world, knowing how lucky he is to have such loving parents!
